About CFP Question Bank

An independent, free question bank and study desk for the CFP® certification exam — built around the eight exam domains, not around a sales pitch.

Plainly

Who We Are

CFP Question Bank is an independent, free study resource for people sitting the CFP® certification exam — the credential administered in the United States by CFP Board. We are a small team that builds exam-prep tools, and this site is the free, web-facing half of that work. There is no paywall, no account to create and nothing to buy to use the practice questions.

The whole site is organised the way we think you should study: around the eight knowledge domains the exam is actually built on, worked one section at a time, with a full explanation on every question.

The idea

Why the Question Bank Exists

The exam is written to a published blueprint — eight domains, each carrying a fixed share of the questions, from Retirement Savings & Income Planning at the top down to Professional Conduct & Regulation. The hard part of preparing is not finding facts. It is spending your hours in proportion to how the exam is weighted, and training yourself to apply a rule to a set of facts rather than merely recognise it.

That is exactly what a question bank is for: volume, weighted to the real blueprint, with a rationale on every item so a missed question turns into a note for your next pass instead of a shrug.

The exam rewards applying the right rule to the facts in front of you — so that is what the practice should drill, question after question.
How we build the bank

Method

How the Bank Is Built

  1. Start from the real domains

Everything is grouped by the eight blueprint domains, so the mix you practise mirrors the mix you will sit — not a random pile of questions.

  2. Weight by the blueprint

Questions are sampled in proportion to each domain's share of the exam, not evenly. The heaviest domains get the most reps, because that is where most of your score is decided.

  3. Explain every answer

Each item carries a full rationale: what the question is testing, why the right answer is right, and why the tempting distractor is wrong. The rationale is the study — the score is just the scoreboard.

  4. Keep it honest

Volatile figures stay off the page and route to CFP Board; the site carries no analytics, no ads and no tracking cookies. What you see is the practice, not a funnel.
